Just for fun...

How did Mark convince Beverley she was the one for him? Did he say, "Now I know why Solomon had 700 wives... because he never met you!" or was it, "Your hair is like a flock of goats descending from Gilead", or even, "it's obvious to me that you sprouted from the good kinda soil..."
Well, here are some more Christian chat-up lines, courtesy of a Facebook group:
1. "nice bible."
2. "is this pew taken?"
3. "Me. You. Song of Songs: the remix"
4. "you are perfect, except with all the sin."
5. "you are so unblemished that I would sacrifice you."
6. "shall we tithe?"
7. "the word says 'Give drink to those who are thirsty, and feed the hungry'; how about dinner?"
8. "I believe one of my ribs belongs to you."
9. "is this the transfiguration.. because you are glowing"
10. "Mark Driscoll takes up 35% of my ipod memory."
11. "hey.. I would work 7 years for your sister.. but I would work 7 more years for you."
12. "bible-gateway happens to be my homepage."
13. "I have many sponsor children. one in each developing nation."
13. "my favourite species of vegetation is the church plant."
14. "did i just have mud rubbed in my eyes?"
15. "what's an xbox?"
16. "since I met you I've converted to divine revelation"
17. "so, can I clothe you in righteousness?"
18. "how many times do I have to walk around you to make you fall for me?"
19. "how would you like to join my Purpose Driven Life?"
20. "so, my parents are home, you wanna come over?"
21. "let me remove my sandals before I come any closer.."
22. "if I had to choose between a romantic date with you or a night with the fellas... I would sit at home and read my bible."
23. "I really like your spirituality, it goes well with that shirt."
24. "I'm a proverbs 32 kind of guy and you're a proverbs 31 kinda woman..."

Evening Prayer Meeting

Top of the prayer list tonight was 'Church in the Park', our Pentecost outreach event. Mark called on Sarah B_ to encourage us with her testimony, which was that she first met with Jesus in a Tent meeting. As Sarah was 6 at the time, she couldn't remember much, but two things had stayed with her: 1) Jesus became her friend. 2) The memory of the lovely woman with a warm smile who really listened to her. I looked at Sarah and realised the circle was complete - what she loved, she had become: a lovely woman with a warm smile who really listens and receives children. We often hear in the world of the 'vicious circle' and there is a Hindu saying, "What you hate, you become". Isn't it great to know that in God's kingdom the reverse is true.
